Flood plain re-connection allowing upstream flood water storage

Flood plain re-connection allowing upstream flood water storage, Cooper beck

The aim of this project was to restore the beck to its original location in the flood plain. The area has been heavily modified over centuries, but this is no longer supporting wildlife or farming. By moving this beck to the lowest point of the field, it stores flood water temporarily in heavy rain, but also improves the natural drainage of the land.
