A rerouted stream flowing through trees to create valuable wet woodland habitat

Wet woodland creation and riparian fencing

Working with the Environment Agency we re-opened a filled in channel which was once part of the beck here. We allowed the water to once again run through the woodland creating a very rare habitat. This project also helps slow the flow of floodwater downstream by temporarily holding it in the woodland. This work also fenced livestock out of the watercourse.
